Ensure all new housing is energy efficient

This might be a given but we need to ensure all new homes are built with insulation, double glazing and have water saving devices around the house such as water saving toilets and water meters. Often water usage gets forgotten but we need to control wastage like we do with energy. 

Why the contribution is important

There have been countless studies on the water saving potential of installing water meters and other saving devices which is a really important factor in the climate emergency. Setting up new builds with double glazing etc. will mean the cost of moving into the house will be reduced for the residents too.
